Joe Dawes and Ashley Noffke decided after years of wearing all types of uncomfortable cricket boots, that is was time cricketers had a better option available to them. So in 2004 they formed fbu. In 2008 Joe Dawes took over as the sole owner and director of the company. 2010 saw Ryan Harris start the coaching side of the business. Ryan's goal is for FBU Coaching to be a world leader in innovation and standards as its sister shoe business.
Joe Dawes - Director of Cricket Services
Joe was born 29 August 1970 in Herston, Queensland, was an Australian Cricketer who played for the Queensland Bulls in Australian domestic cricket. 
He was a right-arm fast bowler
He spent much of his early career in and out of the side due to the success of Michael Kasprowicz, Andy Bichel and Adam Dale. In 2001-02 he enjoyed his first full season when Kasprowicz got injured and Bichel returned to the Test side. He cemented his spot in the side and was a regular until a career ending knee injury in 2005. He finished as Queensland's eighth-highest wicket-taker of all time with 238 victims at 24.94 from his 64 matches. His best season with the Bulls came in 2001-02 with 49 wickets, topping the Pura Cup wicket tally. 43 and 46 wickets came in his next few seasons as he helped Queensland to claim back to back titles.
He has also played cricket at Middlesex and for the Marylebone Cricket Club.
Joe nows works for Queensland Cricket as the Players' Professional Development Manager and is the Qld Bulls/QAS Pace Bowling Coach.
Brett Hawkins - Shoe Conversion Specialist
Brett has over 10 years experience in the shoe industry. He knows the shoe making process inside out, has repaired all types of shoes and has been performing custom modifications for years. In addition to contract work Brett has also had experience in running his own shoe repair business. He brings extensive practical knowledge and skill together with our understanding of cricketers footwear needs. Brett’s industy experiance is also a key component of FBU constant product development.
Ryan Harris - Director of Coaching
Ryan is currently a member of the Australian and Queensland Cricket Teams who will run the coaching arm
of fbu. Ryan is a Level II coach and is currently adding a Cert IV in Fitness to his qualifications. Ryan’sinvolvement in fbu continues the company ethos of; for cricketers by cricketers.
Scott Walter - Pace Bowling Coach
Scott is a member of the Queensland Bulls Squad and has been a regular in the 4day and
1day side until injury cut short his season 2009/2010.
Cam Boyce - Spin Bowling Coach
FBU has now opened up a retail store in the inner Brisbane suburb of Hendra in partnership with Wild Bull Sports - Queensland Albion Distributors.
